Unison are the only Trade Union to have their own charity, called ‘There for you’ set up to support their members during times of financial difficulty.
We have local Welfare Officers who act as your first point of contact for support from the ‘There For You’ service and can offer advice assistance in total confidence. This can include;
- Financial Assistance
- Debt Advice
- Wellbeing Breaks
- Support and Information
- Access to a network of Credit Unions
- Seasonal assistance including Uniform Grants and help towards fuel costs.
‘There For You’ raise funds in a number of different ways, and are open to donations. However one of the main fundraising exercises is the ‘There For You Lottery’ (formerly the Octopus Lottery), which is a monthly draw in which participants can win cash prizes up to £1000 for only £1 per entry.
Information on how to play the ‘There For You Lottery’ can be obtained from your Welfare Officers or the Branch Office and can also be found on the national website here: Get Help/Support and Services.
Your Branch Welfare Officers are Susan Begg and Anne-Marie Hudson who can be contacted via the Branch Office.
