I hope that you and those close to you are safe and well.
COVID-19 has changed lives across the world in ways that were unimaginable a few weeks ago. I appreciate what a deeply worrying time this is, and I want to reassure you that UNISON is continuing to operate. As always, we are here to help you.
We are continuing to listen to your concerns – that is why I have demanded an urgent call with the Prime Minister to raise the issue of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all workers across our public services.
If you have personal experience of PPE shortages in your workplace during this pandemic, please tell us about them. We will relay them directly to government and demand action for you.
We have had enough of promises. Promises do not protect people. We need protection for all of you.
On a personal level, I know many of you may have financial worries. Our charity, There for You, is helping members whose lives and income have been affected by COVID-19.
Meanwhile, if you need more general help, you can still get in touch with us. You can contact your local branch to receive help and advice or you can contact the UNISONDirect help team online.
Finally, thank you for everything you are doing to fight the impact of coronavirus in our communities. We are seeing true public service every minute of every day.
