Women members make up 70% of Unisons Membership.
The Women’s Network works hard to raise the profile of the role of women in the workplace and society in order to tackle the continued inequality that women still face.
In the Northern Region we have a very strong network, having over 85000 women members. Regular quarterly meetings are held along with a regional policy weekend that any women members can attend and get involved in.
Annually there is a Women’s National Conference at which women get the opportunity to influence the work of the national network and UNISON at a national level.
The Women’s Network is arguably the most proactive campaigning SOG within the Northern Region positively influencing issues across all aspects of Unison.
The regional network has regular meetings along with an annual policy weekend to discuss topical issues and create topics for potential motions to Women’s Conference.
